Sheboygan is home to a lively lakefront! You will see people on kayaks, surf boards, sail boats, or paddle boards. Paddle boarding has become a popular and relaxing sport for many. Just grab a paddle, a board, a life jacket, and set out to the water. It's like walking on water, only better!
Adding "Balance" to My Life
Everywhere I go I constantly see people enjoying themselves on paddle boards. It has always been an activity I admired and wanted to take part in. One hot day was the only push I needed. I figured it was time to test my balancing skills. If I fell, at least the water would be refreshing! I drive past the Sheboygan Quarry Beach everyday to work but never really stopped to see what the facility was like. But, when I heard you can rent paddle boards there, that was the perfect place to start.
Renting from the Quarry is very reasonable when it comes to prices. Other than the entrance fee, paddle board rentals are $6 per half an hour. $6? That's crazy!! The quarry is a place for everyone big and small. While the kids are bouncing around exploring the aquatic park, it is the perfect time for the adults to paddle around the area. Although it is a smaller area to paddle around than on Lake Michigan, the walls of the Quarry give it a beauty of its own.
Now that I have the correct footing and I am a "pro" paddle boarder, I think it is time to head out on the waters of Lake Michigan.
