EXPLORE THE JAMES TELLEN WOODLAND SCULPTURE GARDEN

A rustic cabin surrounded by thirty realistic, and often whimsical, concrete statues. Former furniture factory worker, James Tellen, turned his family’s summer cottage into a dramatic sculpture garden filled with figures depicting prairie settlers, Native American figures, and woodland creatures. Although not formally trained as an artist, Tellen adhered to classical notions of art following nature, and strove to make his work as realistic as possible.

WANDER THE INDIAN MOUND PARK

Traverse the boardwalk trail through the wetlands and find all 18 of the Indian burial mounds distributed over 15 acres along the Black River.

KAYAK THE SHEBOYGAN RIVER

Kayaking the Sheboygan River on a night regatta was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had in Sheboygan. I highly recommend enjoying the Sheboygan River, wether it’s walking the riverfront boardwalk, fishing, or kayaking – being near the water is always a great way to experience nature.
