Over time the food truck scene has gained popularity in Sheboygan. With a number of trucks gathering on different occasions it can be expected that the number of appearances throughout the city will grow too.

Food On Wheels

One night that has really started to take off that everyone seems to love is Food Truck Mondays. This event takes place at Vollrath Park and between the hours of 4 to 8 p.m, on average, 1,000 people gather each evening.

Immediately as I stepped out of the car, the smell of food filled the air and entranced me. The whole sidewalk at Vollrath Park was just filled with families. Some relaxed in the grass while kids rolled down the hill or played on the basketball courts. The whole area had a welcoming vibe as the DJ played a mixture of music for all ages. Friends and I enjoy walking around to get a feel for the area and what types of food there are. Trust me when I say it was not easy to pick a truck I wanted to order from. At each truck the individuals working were very friendly and helped with any foods you had questions about. Each truck had food that sounded so amazing and I kept telling myself “We will have to come back to this one.”

I had the chance to order a hog dog and funnel fries from BoMallies and chicken tenders with fries from Fleck’s Curdside Grill. Wow were they delicious. I will say I am a little disappointed in myself for not being my adventurous and ordering something crazy. But, I guess that just means I will have to go back next Monday and explore my options more.
