Bored at home?

Finding a few everyday joys with this

new normal of restricted living

Support Local Businesses

Please remember that there are so many people for whom this isn’t a staycation, but unemployment. For those of you who are able to be on staycation, please consider doing some online shopping at independent stores and ordering take out from independent restaurants.

E-Visits and livestreaming

Museums, art galleries, aquariums and others are starting to offer E-Visits and livestreaming. Here are three I found. Transport yourself to Paris, France by taking a digital tour of one of the most famous international museums, the Louvre. Take a digital field trip to the Georgia Aquarium and see what the animals are up to or head to Yellowstone to visit the Mud Volcano, Mammoth Hot Springs, and so much more.

Another link that was just recommended to me by one of my readers has over 20 virtual tours listed. Sometimes you have to get creative, take a road trip from home, and let your mind do the exploring.

Go for a walk

Walk around outside in the sun at a healthy distance from other humans. I don't know about you, but I can only stay inside for so long before I go stir-crazy.

Bake those goods

Cookies, cakes, brownies. Anything! Pull out the recipe you've been dying to try! Baking is a fun and delicious at the same time!

Pamper Yourself

Treat yourself to a skin care routine you don’t have time for during a normal work week. Face masks, moisturizer, oh my! Even take a bubble bath (bonus: Add a glass of wine).

Build a Fort

Unlease your inner child! Do something fun and different! Grab those blankets and pillows and get to work. Or put those empty Amazon boxes out in the garage to good use!

Let's get in shape

Can’t go to the gym? Work out at home. Do calf extensions on the steps, pushups, and planks like there’s no tomorrow. If that's not your things try some basic yoga techniques. Anything to stay active!

Break out those games

Play cards (Rummy, War, Go Fish, Solitatire, Uno, Old Maid…), break out the board games (Scrabble, Monopoly, Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders…), or put a puzzle together! Any game you can think of!

Learn a new language

I studied Spanish in college. Right now is the perfect time to refresh my skills and vocabulary. You can download Duolingo, or a similar app, and teach yourself a foreign language.
