Sometimes you just need to get out of the house, change the atmosphere, get away from distractions, and get your caffeine fix. Let me help you find cute little cafes in Sheboygan that are easy to get to and more importantly, they help you relax.
Glas Coffee House
Open until after 5 pm, on most days, this café reflects their Irish Heritage and serves traditional coffeehouse drinks as well as some specialty drinks. I personally found luxury in their loose-leaf teas and their Caramel Macchiato. It was clear that quality and comfort is their top priority. It is a place to experience local art, listen to live music, and relax on the deck that over looks the river.
Need a location for a meeting? Check out their conference rooms. I also took advantage of their free Wi-Fi as I munched on some of their fresh baked goodies, which also include gluten-free options. If you are anything like me, be sure to bring your appetite for these sweet delicacies.
Paradigm Coffee & Music
One drawback of trying to work at a café is that the internet connection can sometimes be spotty, but not at Paradigm Coffee & Music. This hip café, decorated with old recycled bikes and a rustic theme, is located on 8th Street and has come to be one of the locals’ and my favorite. When I visit, it is a prime place to kick-back and lose track of time while I fill my belly.
Immediately as you walk in, take a whiff and absorb the aroma of fresh brewed coffees while also catching the smells of fresh pastries like cinnamon rolls, scones, pies, and many more. It is a place with relaxing vibes and, if you’re lucky enough, a place where you can see a live music performance while you sip on wine or beer.
Weather Center Cafe
This locally- owned treasure is located on the riverfront boardwalk in Sheboygan. With its reasonable prices it is a great place to sample and share their healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee options. If you have a sweet tooth they offer an impressive array of mile-high quiche, baklava, spanakopita, and other baked goods.
The café offers a charming, quirky, fun ambiance inside. But, I fell in love with their soothing waterfront patio with outdoor seating. The water is entrancing and you have a chance to watch numerous charter boats glide in and out of the harbor.
Z Spot Espresso & Coffee
“Z spot is more than just a coffee shop, serving everything BUT your average cup of Joe!” This sunlit café offers cheap, fresh baked goods and has a friendly atmosphere that tends to attract quite the crowd some days, especially Saturdays. Unlike some cafes, Z Spot offers a variety of bottled beer and wines with a homemade meal. Their cozy Z Lounge is a common place for groups and club meetings. This fun café is exciting to visit on different days because the artwork and the bakery is constantly changing.
New Life Coffeehouse
Located on South Pier, right down the road from Blue Harbor, this little cafe was recommended to me by a friend. Before it was mentioned, I had never heard of it but I am sure glad I have now! As soon as I walked in there is a little gift shop that guided me back to the coffeehouse. I went around lunch time. It was warm and inviting atmosphere lit up with natural lighting from their big windows.
There were so many yummy items on the menu ranging from hot and cold drinks, smoothies, breakfast and lunches that have vegetarian and organic options. How could I forget they also offer delicious baked goods? I was in somewhat of a hurry so I ordered a chicken wrap for lunch and WOW! When that wrap came out it looked wonderful and smelt fresh. This, heated to perfection, wrap had juicy chicken, red onions, lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and avocado spread.
Although it was only a quick stop, I will be back! I am down on South Pier quite often and I definitely want to try their breakfast menu and explore more of their lunch offerings.
