City of Sheboygan Parks

 

Our City parks have a rich history of offering terrific leisure opportunities.

We offer at least two miles of public beaches that are groomed weekly.

Lake Michigan's water quality is tested on a regular basis.

Restroom facilities are available at most of the City's larger parks including Deland Park and General King Park.

Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty at City beaches.

Windsurfing is often seen at General King Park on Sheboygan's near south side.

Maywood Environmental Park
3615 Mueller Road

Located on Sheboygan's northwest side, the Ellwood H. May (Maywood) Environmental Park was gifted to the City in 1974, and is now home to a 120-acre public park.  Maywood is open daily year-round; the Ecology Center and trails are free for public use.  Maywood offers natural history, environmental programs and activities, community events, recreational outings, summer camps, field trips, self-guided walks, cross country skiing and hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and a meeting place for environmental groups.

Deland Park
715 Broughton Drive

Centrally located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Deland Park is in the heart of the Harbor Centre district. 

Enjoy sandy beaches, ample green space and several play areas for children.

Deland Park also offers boat ramps, a fish cleaning station, pavilions and the Lakefront Trail.

Deland Park is also home to several summer festivals and the Lao, Hmong, American Veterans War Memorial.

Jaycee Park Quarry
3401 Calumet Drive (Swimming Quarry)

Located on Sheboygan's northwest side, Jaycee (Quarry) Park is home to a spring-fed swimming area on the site of a former limestone quarry.  The water quality is excellent, and the sand beach is staffed with certified lifeguards.  Jaycee (Quarry) Park also features a 20-hole Disc Golf Course, picnic and play areas, fishing, and a great hiking trail around the quarry.

Evergreen Park
3000 Calumet Drive

Evergreen Park gets its distinct character from the many acres of white pine trees towering over 100 feet tall.  The tree canopy and cool shade make this a perfect location for a picnic.

Shelters, restrooms and convenient parking are well placed throughout the park.

Evergreen Park (also known as Pine Woods) offers excellent trails for biking and cross country skiing.

General King Park
1601 South 7th Street

Walk at least a mile of groomed beach and see the spectacular blue waters of Lake Michigan.

Restroom facilities are available, and children's play equipment is abundant.

Be sure to watch for Wind Surfers!

Vollrath Park
2001 North 3rd Street

Located on the City's northeast side, Vollrath Park offers many amenities.

A natural amphitheater was built in the 1930's for large gatherings, most notably our North and South High Schools graduations.

Enjoy 18 holes of Disc Golf Course, picnic and play areas, and tennis - all on the shores of Lake Michigan!
